It’s official. Ragnarok Online is coming back. This landmark gaming announcement was made during the Ragnarok Festival event on May 7, 2017 at the SM North Annex Edsa in Quezon City. Hundreds upon hundreds of players flocked to the event to witness the announcement, gaming and cosplay competitions, rock band performances and more.
Today, Electronics Extreme Ltd., and ELITE Global Sourcing Inc., the publishing partner companies behind the relaunch of Ragnarok Online, are set to answer all of the questions that gamers, media, and bloggers want to ask about the game. Electronics Extreme currently owns the publishing rights to Ragnarok Online in Asia and ELITE is the Philippine publishing partner.
Ragnarok Relaunched
Ragnarok Online has enjoyed a resurgence through its renaissance in Taiwan, Thailand and Indonesia. Since it was launched in 2003, close to 10 million people played the game in the Philippines. The game introduced Filipinos to the world of gaming adventure and competition created lifelong friendships. It was so popular that Ragnarok Online was made into an incredibly popular 26-episode anime series. Developed by Gravity Co. Ltd., Ragnarok Online is loosely based on Ragnarok. an incredibly popular Manhwa (Korean Manga).

According to Piromward, RO was relaunched in Thailand last year and enjoyed critical and commercial success. It currently enjoys 93,000 Peak Concurrent users with five servers. Electronics Extreme made sure that the all of the servers were bot-free and has been so for the 6 months. Bots have been one of the major reasons players quit the game.
On top of that, Ken and his company has offered over 40,000 USD for Ragnarok Thailand Championship, their esport campaign
Ragnarok Online Philippines is back
Electronics Extreme and ELITE have great plans for the relaunched Ragnarok Online. Primoward promises that the game will be more community centric. To show this commitment, ELITE and Electronics Extreme have started to invite active RAN Online guild leaders for discussions and more.
He revealed that there will be Custom Events for the Philippines and a number of RO Key items which were acquired through in-game purchases, will be found in the game. New players will also be able to start with Class 2-1 characters, better monster spawn points, faster access to the popular Guild War feature and more.
The relaunched Ragnarok Online will also have dedicated EXTREME Competitions soon. Primoward will also reveal game developments, features and provide game-related information as well.
ELITE, Extreme’s Philippine publishing partner, will make sure the game and community management operations are optimal to provide the best gaming experience to Filipino players. The Ragnarok Online Closed Beta Testing will commence very soon.
