Catch the GuavaTo further improve the gaming experience of every Juan, one of the hottest and biggest Filipino-designed mobile games recently had a major update.

Catch the Guava, a mobile game for Android and iOS, now has fresh new graphics, more content, more gameplay modes and a better tiering of in-game items available for sale inside the app.

Developed and published by Synergy88 Digital, Catch the Guava was co-produced with GMA 7 to highlight their weekly sitcom, Juan Tamad, starring by Kapuso actor Sef Cayadona. In less than three months since it was introduced, the game managed to acquire around 500,000 downloads.

“No other game has had this much traction and engagement when we launched it” said Mon Macutay, Director of Publishing and Marketing at Synergy 88 Digital. “Catch the Guava has enjoyed tremendous support from the community and we’d like to thank all players who played the game. We’re proud to be ‘up there’ in the rankings charts with major global titles such as Clash of Clans, Temple Run, and Words with Friends. And we owe it to the community and the players to continuously improve their gaming experience.”

Something new for Juan

New characters are introduced in the app to keep Juan company under the Guava Tree, including Guapple the Gnome and a dog named Bantay.

New costumes are also available for Juan, such as the Katipunero attire, beach outfit, GMA Kapuso shirt, and the Barong Tagalog.

The game also promotes famous Filipino tourist spots like Rizal Park, Manila City Hall, and Boracay; where Juan is shown idly seated and waiting for the guava to fall on his mouth.
