The Coalition, a Microsoft first-party studio, is excited to announce today that the highly-anticipated Gears of War 4 for Xbox and Windows. The game was officially launched globally on October 11, 2016.


A new chapter in the Gears of War franchise, Gears of War 4 follows J.D. Fenix, the son of the original protagonist of the trilogy, who finds himself in some kind of imminent danger. To get out of the tight spot he’s in, Fenix may have to call on his dad’s help and the reunion between father and son will bring them face to face with extreme forces of evil.


The Coalition selected Synergy 88 Digital Inc. as a development partner to create 3D art assets, making Synergy 88 Digital the first Microsoft-certified studio in the Philippines for game art outsourcing.

Prior to the start of Gears of War 4 development, Microsoft Studios purchased the rights to the Gears of War franchise from Epic Games. From there, The Coalition, then called Black Tusk Studios, announced that the next Gears of War was in concept and prototyping in May 2014.


Initial reviews already rave about the new weapons, the active game play, and smooth movement of the characters.  Early beta testers describe Gears of War 4 to be a natural evolution of the series from where it spawned from.


The Board of Investment, an attached agency of the Department of Trade and Industry, has been promoting the country as an investment destination of choice in the game development and animation industry to the international gaming community.
