Former Salesforce, Oracle Sales Executive to Lead Sales Operations to Accelerate Growth Across APJ
PHILIPPINES—12 February, 2015—NetSuite Inc. (NYSE: N), the industry’s leading provider of cloud-based financials / ERP and omnichannel commerce software suites, today announced that it has appointed Lee Thompson as its Senior Vice President and GM, Asia Pacific & Japan. In this role, Thompson will be charged with heading up NetSuite’s sales operations and building a world-class sales organisation across the entire Asia Pacific and Japan region, taking NetSuite’s strong footprint and more than 1,000 employees in the region to another level.
“I’m extremely proud and excited to join NetSuite and be a part of its continued growth in Asia Pacific and Japan,” Thompson said. “Only a handful of vendors today are true cloud companies, providing customers with multi-tenancy, a single version of the truth, multiple upgrades and all the benefits of a single application instance. Customers today are embracing true cloud. NetSuite was born in the cloud and it is a true cloud vendor, so joining the company was a natural choice for me.”
Thompson brings more than 20 years of sales leadership experience to NetSuite, working for high tech companies including TechnologyOne, Oracle and Salesforce.com. Before joining NetSuite, Thompson was Operating Officer at TechnologyOne. Prior to TechnologyOne, he was Senior Vice President of Corporate sales at Salesforce Asia Pacific, where he was responsible for delivering a regional compound annual growth rate in sales in excess of 30% year-over-year during his tenure at the company. Before that he spent 12 years at Oracle, building the vendor’s commercial sales business in Asia Pacific. Prior to his tenure at Oracle he has held senior managerial positions at Borland, Artisoft and Pilot Software and has worked in the UK, Sweden, Australia, Canada and Singapore.
“Lee’s proven track record in achieving explosive sales growth within the region makes him a perfect fit for NetSuite, as we look to continue to grow within the Asia Pacific region,” said Marc Huffman, President of Worldwide Sales and Distribution at NetSuite. “Asia Pacific is a key revenue-generating engine for NetSuite and a region in which we plan to make ongoing significant investments. Under Lee’s leadership, we expect to see strong growth across all of our three Asia Pacific business divisions – Asia, Australia/New Zealand and Japan.”
