Manila — [October 16, 2014] Early this month, SHORE Solutions’ CEO Darcy Lalonde and Lyceum of the Philippines University (Lyceum Manila) President Bobby Laurel signed a two-year Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for Lyceum Manila to send their qualified senior students to go through six-month-long internship programs at SHORE in fulfillment of the students’ academic requirements for on-the-job training (OJT).

During the MOA signing ceremony, Lalonde said: “SHORE is elated to partner with Lyceum Manila in our first educational endeavor with a prestigious national university such as Lyceum. We hope that this will lead to more students realizing the value of the high growth business process outsourcing (BPO) industry to them as individuals, in their career development and ultimately to the Philippines as an emerging economic tiger.”

Laurel said: “Lyceum is happy to have SHORE as a sponsoring company and our industry partner to help our graduating students practice their BPO specializations first-hand in one of the industry’s most dynamic companies.”

The program is a win-win situation for both partners. Taking in trainees from one of the country’s highly respected educational institutions is among SHORE’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities. Not only will the students be exposed to and be trained in the processes and operations of an innovative, fast-growing BPO company, but these students will be among the new generation of Filipinos, given opportunities in an international industry that is a top employer and contributor to the national economy.

This SHORE approach for young graduates and OJT supports a sufficient supply of talent to ensure the Philippines continues to meet the global demands for talent.
