Teradata Opens Second Office in the Philippines
Significant Investment in people and skills to help clients tackle big data, business analytics challenges
MANILA, Philippines — October 9, 2014 — Teradata (NYSE: TDC), the big data analytics and marketing applications company, today announced that it has officially opened its second site at Bonifacio Global City (BGC) in Taguig City. The expansion forms part of the company’s ongoing endeavor to support its customers on their journey to become data-driven businesses.
The new office, located at the 32nd and 33rd floors of the EcoTower Building at the 32nd corner of 9th street at BGC, will create space for hundreds more Teradata employees, roughly doubling the current headcount over the next 12 months. The new site will serve as Teradata Philippines’ main Americas Development Center which provides services to Teradata customers in the Americas region.
According to Robert Cromer, vice president, Americas Development Center, Teradata, this growth in headcount, along with the investment in real estate and equipment, will provide Teradata with additional capacity to provide high-quality professional services for clients in the Americas region.
“The new Philippines office will provide additional services capabilities for our big data analytics, database migration and managed services segments — areas where we see the most demand from our clients,” explains Cromer. “These capabilities cover data integration, operational support, migration, business intelligence, big data analytics, testing, marketing, application development and support services.”
Cromer added that the new site will be a key component in Teradata’s efforts to help clients tackle big data and business analytics challenges with the company’s integrated set of hardware and software offerings, including the Teradata solutions for Hadoop, the Teradata Aster Discovery portfolio, as well as Teradata Marketing Applications.
Ella Mae Ortega, country manager for Teradata Philippines, pointed out that Teradata has chosen Manila as one of its key delivery centers, making the Philippines the second largest professional services provider for Teradata worldwide. “Teradata’s investment in the Philippines will definitely help boost our economic growth by creating more jobs,” Ortega shared. “We strongly believe that the Philippines is well positioned to supply the skilled resources required to implement and support Big Data projects for our clients in the Americas.”
Teradata continues to operate from its first site at the Bonifacio One Technology Tower, which is also situated in BGC.
